Wanderlust & Mountain magic
2,999 m, the highest of the famous trio. 2,973 m the westernmost, 2,857 m the smallest.
Whoever stands in front of the striking mountain massif and sees it up close and personal, remains astonished & fascinated. We are talking about the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo, of course, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites. You can climb them if you want or choose the less strenuous option: the circular hike around the Three Peaks is a must for every summer holiday in the Dolomites.
The classic Giro delle Tre Cime
Rifugio Auronzo (2,320 m) | 9.5 km | ca. 3 h | 400 m | medium
You start from the Rifugio Auronzo, reachable via the toll street near Misurina by car (please note opening hours) or shuttle bus. The view is already impressive, but you cannot see the Tre Cime just yet. You have to wait a little longer for the most astonishing view – but it pays off!. The hiking trail nr. 101/105 guides you around the majestic Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
From the distance: View of the Three Peaks
If you want to see the impressive mountain massif from a (safe) distance first, you can make your way to the panorama platform right next to the road Dobbiaco-Cortina.
You will find the wooden platform on the left side of the street. The impressive panoramic view is a must-see.
